Amos Rodriguez is a longtime guitar instructor and experienced musician who brings decades of teaching and performance experience to the Cournoyer Center for Music Performance. His goal is to help students reach the level they want to achieve through focused instruction, encouragement and steady practice.
Over the years, Amos has taught at several schools and programs, including Nicholls State University, Creative Music for Kids, Soundstage Music, Hoffman’s Music and also taught guitar, music theory, stage band and other Fine Arts courses at Central Lafourche High School. Now, Amos has the unique experience of teaching former students whose children are now beginning their own musical journeys.
Amos began playing music at a young age and has studied with respected guitar instructors including Bert Roberts at Nicholls State University and Hank Mackey at World of Strings in New Orleans. As a performer, he has played with several bands throughout the region, including Avatar, Hollywood, and currently Rockzilla.
Amos believes that anyone can learn to play an instrument with the right desire, commitment, and guidance. He enjoys helping students grow at their own pace while learning quickly and effectively in a supportive environment. For Amos, teaching music is a meaningful way to serve the community and help students discover what they are capable of through guitar.
